Charles McAbee

Gaffney, SC - - Charles Lee McAbee, 81, of 106 Buck Ridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Union, he was the husband of the late Eloise Spencer McAbee and son of the late Roland McAbee and Dovie Peterson McAbee.  He retired from textiles and was a member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church. He loved his family, fishing, working on small engines and coin collecting.

Surviving is a son, Dean McAbee (Pam) of Gaffney; two daughters, Jackie Hester (Tim) of Monks Corner and Lynn Fowler (Mark) of Gaffney; ten grandchildren, Kevin Thomas (fiancé Danielle), Kelly Thomas (fiancé Justin), Timothy Hester (fiancé Corrine), Madison Hester (fiancé Rob), Keely McAbee, Brianna Miller, Zach Parker, Kristin Parker (Will), Kari Fowler (fiancé Zack) and Savannah Fowler; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Charlie's Angels, Carol Hardin, Jean Parris, Amanda George and Dana Ashworth and Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Bradley and Mr. Dean McAbee officiating.  Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
