Charles “Chuck” Moss III

Gaffney, SC - - Charles M. Moss III, 65, of 229 Brittany Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the loving husband of Suzan Martin Moss for 40 years, and son of Charles Marvin Moss, Jr. and Patricia “Pat” Moss of Gaffney. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Clemson University, a former banker, and the CFO of Hamrick Mills. Chuck was a member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 25 years, served as deacon, D-Group Leader and Assistant Treasurer, and volunteered in the nursery every Wednesday night. He was also the treasurer of the Clemson Club, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a former board member and treasurer of the American Cancer Society of Gaffney, and a member of the Cherokee Sertoma Club. Chuck was an avid Clemson football fan and a season ticket holder for 35 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two daughters, Oliva Grace Moss of Gaffney and Caroline Moss Peeler (Darrell) of Greenville; a brother, Joey Moss (Julie) of Spartanburg; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until 2:45PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM at the Church with Reverend Kevin Hampton, Reverend Mark Hazle, Reverend Blake Hooks, Reverend Hatcher Geary and Reverend Chazz Robertson officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
