Cecil A. Branton, Jr.

Gaffney, SC - - Cecil Alton Branton, Jr., 77, of 206 Hawkins Reynolds Road, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Fort Benning, GA, he was the husband of Jane Reynolds Branton and son of the late Cecil A. Branton, Sr. and Ruth Horne Branton.  He retired from construction after 45 years of service, was a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army for six years, and was of the Baptist faith.  He was dearly loved by his family whom affectionately called him "Butch" and his friends and co-workers called him "Red".  He loved to make people laugh.  Cecil will be dearly missed.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a brother, Ricky Branton of Spartanburg; a sister, Wanda Branton of Pauline; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley B. Slater and Kathy Branton.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating.  Interment, with military honors, will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes.
