Calvin Horne

Gaffney, SC - - Calvin Lee Horne, 88, of 322 Coach Hill Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Magalene "Maggie" Skipper Horne and son of the late William "W. J." Horne and Magnolia "Bam" Fowler Horne.    He retired from textiles, was a member of the S. C. National Guard, and a member of 4th Street Gospel Tabernacle. He loved his family, singing and fishing.

Surviving is a son, Michael Horne (Cathy) of Gaffney; three daughters, Carol Lynn Horne Higdon (Marvin) of Gaffney, Lisa Horne Wallace (fiancé Jeff McAbee) of Gaffney and Libby Ann Locke (Jimmy) of Beaufort; ten grandchildren, Olisha Wallace, Brittany Wallace, Gary Lee Jones (fiancé Kimberly Mullinax), Christy Horne, Nikki Horne, Misty Lane (Bo), Tiffany Horne, Haley Horne (Herbert Duncan), Brandon Horne and Malachi Horne; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Horne, two grandchildren, Jessica Motts and Heather Motts, five brothers, D. C. Horne, Jim Horne Elvis Horne, Bill Horne and Ike Horne, and five sisters, Carolyn Vincent, Ella Vinesett, Pearl Higgins, Grace Pressley and Mary Horne.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Spartanburg Regional Outpatient Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Sellars officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family will be at their respective homes.
