Brenda Cooper

Blacksburg, SC - - Brenda Hancock Cooper, 82, of 197 Cooper Trail, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late James "Jackie" Marion Cooper and the daughter of the late John R. Hancock and Pearl Dickson Hancock. She enjoyed shopping, loved her family and friends and enjoyed eating out with her friends. Mrs. Cooper was retired from textiles and was a former member of Park Hills Baptist Church and a member of Draytonville Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son, James Lyles Cooper II of the home; a daughter, Kelly Cooper Land (Jeff) of Gaffney; a brother, Jerry Hancock of Gaffney; four nephews, Mark Cooper of Blacksburg, Randy Cooper (Debbie) of Blacksburg, Greg Hancock of Greenwood and Todd Hancock (Tammy) of Gaffney; three nieces, Barbara Ann Watts of Blacksburg and Jacquelyn Cooper of Gaffney; a brother-in-law, Marshall Dean Cooper of Blacksburg; a great-niece, Claire Hancock; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.  Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by a nephew, Mike Bailey; and a niece, Wanda Hancock. The family would like to extend a special thank you to JoBeth Zubkoff for her exceptional love and care for our mother.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Keith Harrill and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Inurnment will be in the mausoleum at Frederick Memorial Gardens.
