Bobby Dyke

Gaffney, SC - - Bobby Eugene Dyke, 83, of 2667 Chesnee Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Norma Kirby Dyke and son of the late Fred Eugene Dyke and Lucy Crawford Dyke.  He retired as market manager of Harris Teeter and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.  He loved his family, working on cars, loved his tractor and the shop he built.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara Dyke Ruppe (Scott) of Gaffney; two brothers, Billy Dyke and Charles Dyke, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Betty Smith of Palatka, FL and Brenda Wright (Ronnie) of Gaffney; a sister-in-law, Peggy Dyke of Lincolnton, NC; two grandchildren, Heather Dickson (Davis) of Gaffney and Kacy Crump (Damon) of Belmont, NC; three great-grandchildren, Ady Dickson, Haze Dickson and Ivy Crump.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Eugene Dyke, Jr. and a brother Gerald Dyke.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Daryle Hawthorne officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
