Bennie P. Petty

Gaffney, SC - - Bennie Parker Petty, 96, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Furman Thomas Petty and daughter of the late Ben F. Parker and Fearleen Pierce Parker.  She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Petty and Reggie Petty (Jane), both of Gaffney; a daughter, Rachel Farmer of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Merri Anna Allred (Ryan) of Lexington, Brooke Petty of Boiling Springs, SC and Lauren Vaughan (Ryan) of Gaffney; four great-grandchildren, Alex Allred, Emiley Allred, Thomas Vaughan and Baxley Vaughan.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Taylor Petty, a daughter-in-law, Jan Petty, a son-in-law, Sid Farmer, and two sisters, Louise Elmore (Lewis) and Pauline Parker.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Agape Hospice and special caregivers that are like family, Deana Raines, Vickie Cartee, Lori Bragg and Rebecca Camp.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bryon McIntyre, Dr. Terry Duvall, Reverend Ryan Vaughan and Reverend Ryan Allred officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Macedonia Baptist Church, 216 Macedonia Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
