Obituary

Tony Morrow

Boiling Springs, SC - - Anthony "Tony" Haynes Morrow, 79, of 131 Clearcreek Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Donna Smith Morrow for 29 years and son of the late Thomas Haynes Morrow and Helen Souther Morrow. He was a graduate of Chapman High School, a graduate of Wofford College, a U.S. Army veteran, and a retired Home Builder and Real Estate Developer. He was an active member of both Boiling Springs First Baptist and First Baptist North Spartanburg where he served as a Sunday School Teacher with his wife, Donna. He treasured his time teaching in the children's ministry with their dear friends and forging lasting friendships in their WOW (Way of the Word) connection class. He loved to travel with his family any chance he could get, go golfing with his "amigos", and root on his Gamecocks! Above all, he cherished his relationship with Christ and desired for others and his family to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. No matter the next obstacle, Tony never stopped pushing and always managed to turn lemons into lemonade. His senior quote reads "To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children…to leave the world a bit better…to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – that is to have succeeded" which he most certainly did.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are two sons, Trey Morrow (wife Beth) of Greenville and Nathan Morrow (fiancé Webber Roberts) of the home; two daughters, Lori Young (husband Alva) of Spartanburg and Gabrielle Morrow of Charleston; a sister, Susan Murphree (husband Paul) of Inman; four grandchildren, Andrew Morrow, Ben Morrow, Alie Young and Holden Young; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Haynes Morrow, and a sister, Teresa Morrow.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the church with Dr. Hank Williams, Jr. officiating. The interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Landrum.
