Angie Barnhill

Gaffney, SC - - Angie Lee Turner Barnhill, 92, of Gaffney, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and to be reunited with her earthly love on May 15, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Luther Harry and Emma Lee Turner and was married to the late Herbert Francis Barnhill for 47 years.

Born in Blacksburg, SC, Angie graduated in 1951 from Blacksburg High School, where she was a member of the Wildcat Marching Band. She attended Winthrop College, where she intended to graduate with a business degree; however, changed her career choice to become a dedicated wife and mother and later became a substitute teacher for Cherokee County Schools. She has been a life-long member of First Baptist Church, Gaffney, where she sang in the Church choir. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, singing and spoiling her grands, great-grands and great-great-grands. Angie was so loved and adored by all of “her babies” and they were so blessed by her compassion and love for each one of them.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Frank Barnhill (Ann), two daughters, Elizabeth Barnhill and Traci Scruggs (Mark), all of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Robin Olsen (Eric), Herbert Francis, II, Erica Childers (Trey) and Nikki Fain (Zach); eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Comer officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
