Albert "Candyman" Ruppe

Gaffney, SC - - Albert "Candyman" Ruppe, 88, of 236 Patrick Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Cliffside, NC, he was the husband of the late Ruth Caroline Ward Harris Ruppe and the son of the late Joshua Ruppe and Eddie Mooney Ruppe. He enjoyed woodworking, rocking on his front porch, loved his family and friends and his Lord. Mr. Ruppe was retired from Timken, after 27 years of service and was a member of Love Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Scott Ruppe (Cathy) of Cowpens and Todd Ruppe of Gaffney; two daughters, Donna Franklin and Carolyn Phillips, both of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Terry Blackwell, Cameron Ruppe (Jessica), Brandy Sisk (Casey), Alan Ruppe and Jonathan Driskill; and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Ruppe was preceded in death by six brothers, Alvin Ruppe, Junior Ruppe, Roy Ruppe, Benny, Detroy Ruppe, Charlie Ruppe and Gilmer Ruppe; four sisters, Lucille R. Burgess, Alma R. Foxx, Irene Ruppe and Effie Ruppe; and a great-granddaughter, Jordan Driskill. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice for their exceptional love and care.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Culbertson and Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
