Gaffney, SC - - Margaret Jefferson Boyd, 85, of 940 N. Limestone Street, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Hanover, VA, she was the widow of the late Walter Olins and the daughter of the late John Jefferson and Carrie James Jefferson. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are three sons, LeRoy Carey and wife, Margaret of Ashland, VA, Robert Boyd of Columbia and Stephen Boyd of Gaffney; a daughter, Bernice Littlejohn of Gaffney; a sister, Mahalie Taylor of Ashland, VA; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by four brothers, Theodore Jefferson, William Jefferson, Tom Jefferson and Temple Jefferson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Douglas Morris officiating. The family will be at the residence.
